If you know of a loved one who was recently detained, you can find them on the ICE locator app in two ways.
A-Number and Country of Birth (Best Option)
- To find the A-number from your loved one, look for any official documents (mailed or in-person) from the Office of Immigration and Customs Enforcement and look for a 9-digit number starting with the letter A.
- If the A-number is less than 9 digits, please add zeros at the beginning. (EX: A-132409 into A-000132409)
- Select the country of birth of your loved one.
- Click on Search by A-Number.
Full Name, Country of Birth and Date of Birth (If You Cannot Find A-Number)
1. To search by name, you need to have the full name including middle names. You may need to try different name variations to find them.
Example Variation 1:
- First Name: Juan David
- Last Name: Miguel Santos
Example Variation 2:
- First Name: Juan Miguel
- Last Name: David Santos
This process can take some time.
2. Select the country of birth.
3. Add the date of birth with Month, Day, and Year. (not required)
4. Click on Search by Biological Information.
If you cannot find your loved one after testing out option 1 and 2, they may still in the process of booking into the system. It can take up to 48 hours to be placed into the system.
